When you get to work for a client where you not just know the product very well but you’re also a massive fan, it makes the job of a marketeer all the more enjoyable.
Before beginning to work with Garfish we were avid fans of the restaurants, based in Manly, Kirribilli and Crows Nest in Sydney.
Engaged to take on the Online Marketing actives for the three restaurants we cover a lot of territory on their behalf.
Here’s a quick check list! :
- Social media execution on Facebook & Twitter
- Creation and execution of online promotions
- Online brand monitoring – there are a lot of restaurant and food review sites (eg eatability.com.au & urbanspoon.com.au) we keep a keen eye on all the relevant activity on these sites
- Production of video content – view some of the work here on YouTube.com
- Writing a very active blog – see opposite screen shot
- Google Adwords Management
- Web Site Management
- Management of eMail Newsletters
As we do with many of our marketing engagements we built an up to date web site for the restaurants, using WordPress, our tool of choice. This gives our clients a great tool to manage their web site content as well as a knock-out blogging platform.
Having a client open to all sorts of ideas is also a great help.
In association with the restaurant team we’ve run a Food Bloggers Event that saw a great response to the new menu by a group of enthusiastic bloggers from around Sydney and beyond.
As with all of our online marketing clients, Garfish is presented with regular face to face meetings to cover progress, return on investment for marketing activities, performance of activities and of course brainstorming new ideas.
Below are some images worth review, the first is the new look Garfish Web Site. This is really the root of all of our online activities as most things point back to the web site in one way or another.

Next is the Twitter home page for Garfish, customised with logo and some images from around the restaurants.
