Over the years, Margan has established itself as a new generation Australian wine maker and has become one of the most well known and popular wine makers in Australia.
Margan is a clear market leader in the Australian wine making market, and is a wholesale distributor of wine throughout Australia and overseas.
The visitor profile for the Margan website includes existing and potential customers, retailers, sommeliers, media journalists, and as such the website needed to convey a premium feel to adequately represent the company in a competitive market.
Client Objectives
Having a tired and worn-out website, TheDMA was engaged by Margan to carry out a new website design in order to stand out from the crowd in a very competitive market place.
It was important to provide a user friendly, highly intuitive interface to provide ease of use in navigating the vast amount of content different visitors were seeking, including trade, supplier information, events, weddings, restaurant bookings.
The DMA Solution
The DMA was commissioned to develop a professional and modern looking website with the option to add and extend functionality in the future.
The website graphic design and build process included a fully customised WordPress Theme design with the creation of HTML/CSS design elements for the homepage and internal website pages.

Once the graphic design process and CSS elements were signed off, we installed the custom WordPress Theme along with complete security configuration into WordPress using the Thesis theme framework.
The creation of page/post framework and migration of existing content, including homepage content, into the new site was carried out in a streamlined and secure process.
To capitilise on the visual aesthetics of the Margan content, we configured an image slider which displays featured image content on the homepage of the site.
To support marketing efforts, a Mail Chimp email newsletter was designed and implemented, expanding the call to action on the website to include newsletter sign up.
In order to build and maintain SEO for the new website, The DMA performed a review and analysis of the website, ensuring all pages of content were optimised for search. With Margan’s consistency in their brand and service offering and together with the clean and concise mark up language of WordPress, Margan continues to build and increase their online visibility.
