Well Facebook has done it, so I guess it’s not so surprising to see application essays for university submitted through Twitter either. Launched last month, the campaign is executed by University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business and will award one full year financial award package to the student who makes the best 140-character pitch.

The campaign aims to demonstrate that applicants have the ability to use social media and innovative forms of technology.

Is this is a sign of the ever-consuming role that social media has on our lives?
