Most of the time when we are approached by a new client, they already want wordpress. Either they have read about it or they have been given some (good) advice from a friend that it’s a good platform for to run your web site on.
One thing that some are unsure about is what it is going to look like.
Still, many people think that because it is wordpress that it is going to look like a template web site.
Probably wordpress didn’t do itself any favours with the default theme (see opposite) for many versions being pretty bland.
Even that however is much better with the current 3.x version utilising a new default theme “twenty 10″. It gives you much more flexibility to control the type, masthead and background colours among other things.
However as developers building customised themes, we tend to use theme frameworks like Thesis and Genesis.
The results, well many are still amazed at what you can do.
